We talk to Sunny Jim owner, Emma about the excitement of welcoming her own baby in to the world very soon!

What is your favourite way to spend time with the kids?

I am currently seven months pregnant and I can’t wait to welcome our baby into the world. My husband and I have spoken about how we want our children to experience the world and we really want our child to experience the outdoors, just like we did as children. We imagine heading to the park, going on camping trips and weekends down the coast exploring new places and teaching our babe how amazing life is when you get outside.

Who inspires you?

My business idol and inspiration is Samantha Wills (Aussie Jewellery designer). Not only is she an outstanding creative, but she also a savvy business women with an eye for detail and has an amazing way of engaging her customers. My husband James is my main inspiration – he has helped me so much with Sunny Jim and taught me about business, being true to yourself and also what you give out is what you get back. I have met so many amazing, inspiring and generous people through Sunny Jim and thanks to James, I am growing as a business owner.

What’s for breakfast?

It seems I do things in blocks – Last month it was eggs on toast, the month before was porridge and now I am in weet-bix mode! There isn’t anything overly sexy about Weet-bix (there are certainly no instagram shots of my breakfast!) but a little honey and banana on top and you have yourself a winner! Throw in a coffee and I am on top of the world.

What’s your favourite thing to bake?

My mother-in-law just gave me a baking cook book. Its a gorgeous book and it went straight on the book self for ‘one of those days when I try my hand at baking’! Does it count as baking if you put veggies in the oven!?

What’s your favourite bedtime story?

As a child I loved ‘The Paper Bag Princess’ and I was talking to James about the book ‘Where the wild things are’ and he had never heard of it so I bought him a copy and I can’t wait to read this to our new babe.

What is your go to remedy for a tantrum?

I am open to advice here but at the moment I am focusing on the babe’s first two weeks of life and wondering how I am going to even get my head around that! The joys of parenthood I guess.
