What is your favourite way to spend time with the kids?

Walking to the park and playing on the swing and slide! My daughter Pip just gets so excited when I mention going to the park and going on the swing. She yells out “weeeeee” with a big Cheshire Cat grin!
Pip is already quite the inquisitive cook and many of my #BabyPipEats recipes have been developed, styled and photographed with Pip either on my hip or hanging onto my legs!

Who inspires you?

My daughter, inspired the writing of my #BabyPipEats cookbook. I had a goal to write a cookbook in the 12 months I would be on maternity leave with my first baby. Once I started introducing her to solids the book evolved through the Instagram posts of our new little family’s experiences with food.

What’s for breakfast?

We moved to Victoria a couple of months ago so warm bowls of porridge are Pip’s and our favourite. Seasonal fresh and poached fruits (rhubarb, pears, or apple) are always a delicious addition with a sprinkle of chia seeds or toasted coconut.

What’s your favourite thing to bake?

A beautiful cake – I love using unique or unusual cake molds, then filling the cake with homemade seasonally influenced fillings like a yummy curd and fruits. To top it off I love to serve these desserts with creme fraiche it’s the perfect balance of slightly sour to complement the sweet. If I’m going to bake or have dessert I really want to enjoy and relish in it. It’s all about savouring good food with great company.

What’s your favourite bedtime story?

At the moment we love Where Is The Green Sheep?! and ‘Ten little fingers and ten little toes’

What is your go to remedy for a tantrum?

Distraction, distraction, distraction! Pip loves animals and in particular, cats and dogs, so I pretend I’ve just seen one and tell her and she starts looking around!!! This usually distracts her just enough to forget about the tantrum or wanting something she can’t have!
