There is no greater gift than the gift of play! With a clear goal to design playtime learning solutions that improve play at home and on-the-go The Lowercase offers a playtime learning range that has been developed to encourage the natural creativity of children while supporting their developmental needs.

This new range is specifically designed and tested by parents for parents as a smarter way to entertain young children. Crafted from 100% sustainable materials it sits in line with their personal values and helps support both local and global communities.

Founder Tessa shares more:

What is your favourite way to spend time with the kids?

Cycling around Centennial Park… in search of the Gruffalo of course. Or taking a bus ride to the MCA or Art Gallery of NSW to get a much-needed creative colour fix. Xavier loves exploring Art Safari at the MCA which set the tone for our new play-based Activity book: ‘Colour and Stamp Safari’. Lions, Tigers and Bears beware!

Who inspires you?

Xavier is always the leading inspiration behind our product range. As designers, being parents has given us the opportunity to see what is really missing in the market style-wise and also made us aware of the lack of locally produced, sustainable goods for little ones. Our philosophy when manufacturing is always that sustainability leads to success.

What’s for breakfast?

Spelt fruit loaf with ricotta and honey and topped with strawberries when time allows!

What’s your favourite thing to bake?

We love cooking gingerbread in our house which we’ve made an everyday treat in our house by using a wholesome recipe combining almond meal, buckwheat flour, honey and vanilla. What’s not to love about making a dinosaur, plane or heart and then… eating it!

What’s your favourite bedtime story?

At bedtime we can’t go past Green Eggs & Ham by Dr. Seuss. It’s a clever, classic that never fails to bring a smile to our faces. It even inspired our new Colour-in Activity Book ‘Yellow Eggs & Ham: A Drawing & Doodle Book’ – which gives little artists the chance to get creative and decide what colour their eggs should be.

The Lowercase was one of the fabulous vendors at One Fine Baby. Find out more about their range on The Lowercase website.
