At our recent One Fine Baby campaign, we put a call out on Instagram and asked real families to come and be involved in the shoot. This is where we meet the absolutely gorgeous (inside & out) Holly and little miss Audrey.
Let’s dive right in. Over to you Holly!
What was your initial gut reaction when you found out you were pregnant?
The news came as a huge surprise to my husband and I, and to be honest I think we were both in shock at first, worried that we were not ready. But as it turned out, we had never been so ready!
What was the first item you bought for your baby?
We went out and bought the cot and change table early on, I was excited to start planning the nursery.
What was the most unexpected part of your pregnancy?
I never expected to find it so uncomfortable to sit down or to sleep!
Did you decide to find out the sex of your baby?
No, we both wanted it to be a surprise.
Name both the worst and best part of giving birth.
The best part of giving birth is the sheer excitement that you are so close to meeting your little person. It far outweighs any of the downsides, in my opinion.
Did you feel like a mum straight away?
I remember being overwhelmed with love and protective straight away, so in that sense yes.
What is your favourite thing to do with your baby?
Walking…Wherever, whenever. It was the one thing that really helped me in the early months, when the days (and nights) are long. Fresh air is medicine for the soul.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received about parenting?
Try to enjoy every moment because it passes so quickly.
And, on the days that are a little more challenging, remember, “this too shall pass”
What’s the one thing you would go back and tell your pregnant self?
Describe being a mum in three words.
Exhausting, rewarding, incredible
Do you have a favourite #MumHack you’d love to share?
Reusable zip-lock bags
What was the best product advice someone gave you either during or after pregnancy?
1. Solly baby wrap, for the days when they will only sleep on you
2. Love to Dream Suit
3. Pidgeon glass bottles with peristaltic teat. Excellent for when they are smaller, not feeding themselves.
